Claro is the largest mobile phone network in the Americas, it is part of the Mexican telecom group América Móvil.Claro Guatemala launched UMTS/HSDPA (1900 MHz) network in Guatemala , with 1.8 Mbit/s of download, the network was update to the first UMTS/HSPA network as a trial for América Móvil, the network have coverage in all capital cities, reaching up to 40 cities with UMTS/HSDPA coverage and 7 cities with HSPA.

TIGO or just COMCEL is a mobile phone service provider company owned by the international mobile phone company Millicom or just MIC. TIGO launched their 3.5G data network operating on the HSDPA 850 MHz band, and is currently the only 3.5G network in Guatemala, as well as the one with least speed caps (a cap of 3.6Mbit/s has been set) while other networks (such as Claro) cap their network at around 1.5Mbit/s.
